Events:
June 21, 2007 - Alexander Muir Cottage - Toronto Beaches
It is said that Alexander Muir was inspired by the Maple cottage garden tree when he wrote the MAPLE LEAF FOREVER poem. The event was a tribute to the famous Maple tree and its "sapling". The sapling was donated by Bill Wrigley and Carolyn Swadron who saved 18 maple keys from the famous old tree and planted them in their backyard in the year 2000. Thanks to this couple.
The Maple Cottage Garden club then transferred this only survivor sapling and planted it behind the cottage not far from the century old mother Maple tree. Thanks to Brian for performing an impressive spiritual ceremony.
